Biography
Bert Gellynck (1976) is architect and urbanist. He is the founder of 1010 [TEN-TEN], a Brussels based design studio in collaboration with Nadia Casabella.
1010 is convinced that architecture must create the city, and that architecture has its roots in the form and meaning of the city. 1010 does not want to choose between architecture and urbanism. 1010 believes in a comprehensive approach to the physical environment. In 2010, the office was awarded the Planning Prize, honored by the Flemish Community for its masterplan Ruggeveld Boterlaar-Silsburg, a landscape park in Antwerp.
Bert Gellynck is related to the University of Ghent since 2006 and is mainly involved as a tutor in the master design studios.
