Eline Himpe (°1988) graduated as engineer-architect in 2011. Her master dissertation was part of a diptych ‘Life cycle energy consumption of zero-energy houses: impact of the building envelope and of the technical installations’, that was supervised by Ghent University and VITO.
Since October 2011 she is a doctoral fellow in the research group of Building Physics, Construction and Services and in December 2012 she was granted a PhD-scholarship of the Ghent University Special Research Fund. Eline investigates the performance assessment of zero-carbon dwellings, buildings and neighbourhoods, a theme which embraces the following research topics: energy performance of district heating grids, the definition, design and assessment of ‘zero-energy’ concepts and the energy-monitoring of a zero-carbon neighbourhood (ECO-Life project), which is closely related to her PhD-subject: ‘Assessment of the real energy performance of dwellings by use of energy monitoring data’.
